The Smith Street Band - Throw Me In The River (2014)

Artist: The Smith Street Band
Country: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Album: Throw Me In The River
Year: 2014
Genre: Folk Punk

I've been following this band for a few years now, and nearly everything they release is gold.  "Throw Me In The River" is no exception, and will be a classic.  Nothing but raw, true, feel good music.  This might be their best release to date but hard to say because their discography is so strong.  Great to play around the campfire(like the album cover implies), or just grab a few brews and have a merry listen.

Defend Freedom!

So this 14 year old kid is facing charges that he could go to prison for, just for this photo:

Regardless of your religious views, you probably would agree that this is ridiculous.  They are refusing to drop the charges of "Desecration of a Venerated Object", which could result in up to 2 years in prison.  This is a violation of freedom, just because it makes the people in charge angry.  It's fucking bullshit, so if you agree please sign the petition linked below, and maybe we can stop this insanity.  The only way is if there is enough public outcry, and that is a plausible possibility.  Thanks guys.

Big K.R.I.T. - See Me On Top 4 (2014)

Artist: Big K.R.I.T.
Country: Meridian, Mississippi
Album: See Me On Top 4
Year: 2014
Genre: Rap/Hip Hop

K.R.I.T.'s second full length album "Cadillactica" is supposed to come out in November.  So it's appropriate to put this mix tape out right now, and let us get a little peak at what's to come.  I personally think he's one of the best rappers out right now.  I haven't listened to this yet (just finished downloading it; still on track 1), but I know it'll be good, so i figured i'd go ahead and post it for those of you that didn't know it was coming.  Totally free(obviously) so download it below.

Fuck The Facts - Abandoned (2014)

Artist: Fuck The Facts
Country: Quebec, Canada
Album: Abandoned
Year: 2014
Genre: Grindcore/Death Metal

This is a 3 song EP coming out October 1st.  Their Ep's are always great, and the new song does not disappoint.  They've come so far as a band from when it started as a solo project.  Pick it up on a cassette while they're still available.  Brutal as fuck.

They know i'm sippin on it...

His new album is pretty good, slows down some of his raps and you can hear more lyrics, which isn't a bad thing considering fast rappers in general.  I'm not feeling it as much as some of his other releases, but it's well worth the listen and is still gold compared to alot of the shit out now days.

Cannibal Corpse - Skeletal Domain (2014)

Artist: Cannibal Corpse
Country: Tampa, Florida
Album: Skeletal Domain
Year: 2014
Genre: Death Metal

It's the Thirteenth full length album by the legendary Cannibal Corpse.  I haven't listened to any of their newer albums just because i never got around to it, so I don't know how it compares, but Corpsegrinder's vocals are insane on this.  I definitely have to go check out some of there more recent material, cause this shit is solid as fuck.  The production rules too.  It officially comes out on the 16th in North America so support good ass death metal!

Steak - Slab City (2014)

Artist: Steak
Country: London, UK
Album: Slab City
Year: 2014
Genre: Stoner Rock/Desert Rock

I don't know if this band's been around long, but this is their debut; and they are fucking killing it.  Feels like Kyuss all over again.  They even have John Garcia doing guest vocals on the track "Pisser."  If you're a fan of desert rock pick this shit up ASAP.  I can't smoke right now, but I feel high just listening lol.
