Promethee - Unrest (2015)

Artist: Promethee
Country: Geneva, Switzerland
Album: Unrest
Year: 2015
Genre: Metalcore

I'm not big on the metalcore scene at all, but I enjoy it sometimes.  Usually for nostalgic purposes, because metalcore/deathcore was about all some of my friends listened too in high school.  I was, however, the 16 year old handing out burned copies of Napalm Death's "Scum" to whoever would take it.  I've always had a passion for music, and spreading it to as many people as possible.  Granted, I haven't always done it in the most legal way, but I firmly believe that spreading any music does not harm the artist at all, in fact it greatly helps them.  I can't tell you how many band's albums I've downloaded "illegally" and went on to buy shirts or gone to their shows.  My music collection is legendary in my hometown, and I regularly give sick shit to people that ask for it, or if an unknown band is bad ass i'll just give it out.  With that being said, Promethee's self titled EP was one of those unknown's that I tried to spread to as many people as possible.  That was back in 2010, so as soon as I saw a new full length by them, I checked it out immediately.  There is no singing in this, but it's just not heavy enough to venture into being called deathcore.  It is some sick ass shit though, further proving that foreign metalcore should not be overshadowed by bands from the US.  While everyone else is jamming the new Atreyu album, put this better shit on instead.  Check it out, support them, and thanks for listening to me ramble.

Throaat - Black Speed [EP] (2015)

Artist: Throaat
Country: Brooklyn, New York
Album: Black Speed [EP]
Year: 2015
Genre: Black Metal/Thrash Metal/Speed Metal

I'd like to introduce you to the band Throaat.  They have a new EP entitled "Black Speed" that will rip your face off.  It looks and sounds like something that would have been released 20 years ago.  However, this is some brand new fresh metal.  It's brutal, it's fast, and honestly this could become a classic in the future,  It's even got a Venom cover at the end.  I had never heard of Throaat before this was released, but I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more of these guys.

Planks - Perished Bodies (2015)

Artist: Planks
Country: Germany
Album: Perished Bodies
Year: 2015
Genre: Blackened Sludge

I just started listening to this and it's real sick so far.  They call themselves "Gloom Core" which is pretty accurate and gives a good idea of how they sound.  Check 'em out with me and let's drink a craft beer to it.

The Beatles - With The Beatles (1963)

It's a "The Beatles" kind of day.  I'm gonna listen to all of their albums in order over the next few days, just for the hell of it.  "With The Beatles"(Album #2) is a lot better than their first one in my opinion, but none of them are awful. So join me in listening to them all starting with "Please Please Me."  I'm already almost done with the second album, so hurry up and get started!

Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking (1988)

Artist: Jane's Addiction
Country: Los Angeles, California
Album: Nothing's Shocking
Year: 1988
Genre: Alternative/Hard Rock

It had been a few years since I listened to this, but I've been listening to a bunch of my old albums recently.  I love this album, and I used to have this on regular rotation, but it got slowly pushed away by all the new stuff that I'm always trying to keep up with.  I figure it's worth a post, and if you haven't heard this you need to.  It's one of the best albums of it's era, easily.
